7 Habits of Highly Effective People, uses Aesop’s fable of The Goose That Laid The Golden Eggs to explain P/PC.
Even though the golden eggs, meaning the Production (P) - the output or result that is highly valuable to the farmer. He cannot ignore/ underappreciate the asset that provides the Production Capability (PC), meaning the goose.
So , Goose and Golden eggs are of equal value. No PC = no P.
“The idea of P/PC balance is the very essence of effectiveness.
It’s validated in every arena of life. We can work with it or against it, but it’s there. It’s a lighthouse.”
Why?
In Businesses, we all struggle to maintain the P/PC Balance, as the balance between the golden egg (production) and the health and welfare of the goose (production capability) is often a difficult judgment call. However, it directs to a profitable decision.
In relationships, even if we are moderately successful in implementing this then the majority of our life problems vanish, and life becomes worthful living.
At the end of the day, more than how many assets we are building what matters the most is how many memories we are creating with our loved ones.
Agree or Disagree?
